Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Sometimes, it’s nice to sleep in on weekends. There is nothing like waking up, warm under the covers, realizing you have nowhere to be, and snuggling back down for another hour or two of slumber.
Other weekends are made for traveling and crazy schedules. This is one of those weekends.
I went to bed at eight last night and got up at one AM. After a quick shave and shower, I grabbed my Go Bag (hey, you’ve always gotta be packed for adventure!), fired up Rosie and pointed her towards Atlanta. As I was beginning this crazy travel day, some folks were just closing down the local bars.
The ATL was eerily quiet when I got there. Nice really. Made it on a plane to Denver (which always helps if you want to fly there) and took off early. Gained two hours in the bargain and arrived at DEN mid-morning. Can see snow covered Pikes Peak from the A train into town.
Got to Union Station in thirty seven minutes (yes, for real), used some AMEX Uber credits to get to my daughter’s house from there.
Papa visits daughter and granddaughter time!
Did I forget to get a hotel room? No, won’t need one this trip. I’ll reverse engineer my trip from downtown Denver to DEN late tonight, catch a cat nap, get some coffee and be on the plane back to ATL by six AM.
Rosie has taken me around the country and to Denver before, so she has no reason to be jealous. She’ll still need to get me home to Augusta after I visit the Sky Club and then with my wife at the ATL before she heads out on her second trip to Munich this week.
Did I mention that we love crazy travel schedules?
Happiness on this beautiful, sunny, crisp Colorado day is planes, trains and automobiles.
